can any of you fine members help me i have a c200 1998 esprit 2l 87000 miles on clock on take off it is very laboured seems to take a second or two to responed hot or cold (had or cars never done this) but when going seams fine circles etc dont think this is right for a leading brand so any ideas its not due a servive till another 6700 can it be cheap supermarket petrol or do i need to take it to a garage if so does any one no of a good indie in or near dundee as mb are to dear for my pocket sad but true just joined this site but you guys seam to know most things as i have read a few threads looking forward for any good advice cheers

Hi Peter,,if your car has a MAF,,and it may do for that year then that could be the problem or if nit then the air sensor is worth looking at

The MAF is 5 in the link unplug it and try it

hi gents sorry to be a pain dont no my way round cars what is a air mass/what is it for and do you mean unplug it then drive to see any differance? and if this is it where can i get one how much would i except to pay is this a common problem and easy to sort or would i be better to get a garage to sort

Yes Peter just pull the plug out and try the car and it may go better,,it does not always prove the point. Any Bosch Service Center is the cheapest place to buy one from.

The Ebay versions are useless

They cost about £140 unless you can get the insert only and screw it into your own plastic housing
