Hi,

My '56 CLS takes about 5-10 seconds to start from cold, followed by a burst of smoke from exhaust. The last couple of times the glo plug warning light has stayed on for around 30 seconds to one minute.

these things always occur at the wrong time ! - am off driving to Spain on Tuesday.

Just wondering if this is something that could wait 14 days, or should it go in to the garage ?

Many thanks !

Yes, more than likely you will have 1 or more glow plugs down. The V6 does need a bit of pre glow to fire up on the key.

Getting it sorted when you are back is fine; but make sure you take it to someone that knows what they are doing.

Yeah can probably wait. Make sure when starting you turnkey and hold until glow plug light goes off then start the engine. This allows the warm up to take place and should start quicker.
