Hi all,
I have a E350 Coupe 2014, my parking brake wasn't holding my car well for some time so I really press hard on the pedal, (yes I should have just adjusted the handbrake, oops), and the last time I pressed the parking brake hard, SNAP, oh no, so the parking brake does nothing now when depressed, now does the pedal come back up when pulling the release, I have to help it with my foot.
So I assume the cable has snapped in one location, as far as I'm aware, there are 3 cables, one from the pedal to the middle, and 2 splitting off to the rear brakes. However, I can't seem to find where this is actually located, there doesn't seem to be much info online, some places suggest it's under the car, or under the rear seats (Also any idea how to remove these? had a quick look, couldn't see where the bolts are), thought I'd attempt to repair this myself before taking this in for what I assume is a costly fix.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

I had the same in a Vito years ago.
A bit of a panic for me as I was on a wet slipway with a trailer, hence my pushing the pedal a bit harder.

Anyway, I had pulled the cable out of the parking brake adjuster. Everything slackened and the cable went back in. I then closed the opening on the adjuster to prevent re occurrence.

I hope this is the case, would save me some money! Might be a stupid question, but you mean it got pulled out from the adjuster at the rear hub right?

No, the adjuster on the Vito 639 is about 2/3 back. Accessible from the underside and open to the elements. I've just fashioned a Tupperware cover on mine.
On many it is below the rear seats, below a cover.

The one cable that pulled out is from the pedal.
The adjuster tightens up the pivoting holder of the 2 cables out to the wheels.
If you're lucky by slackening that you might get the one cable back in if the nipple hasn't pulled off on a cable somewhere. 13mm long reach socket easiest.

Hi folks, Just following along on this thread here as I seem to have the same problem/symptoms as Chrisde202 has. As i have a W204 I presume the system is near identical to that on the 2014 E class. So i was wondering if you managed to fix the problem and potentially show a little bit more light on how it was rectified. Thanks in advance
