I never use my cruise at all , dont know why and I have had it as standard on a few cars over the years and certainly wouldn't have it as an option. Yes it would stop you speeding but i never feel in control !

The speed ''limiter'' is a more useful device than ''cruise control'' on stretches of road where you do not want to be caught exceeding the limit......such as stretches of SPECS. Greater control without having to reset.....you can slow, brake and accelerate as normal up to the preset limit.....a lot more ''workable'' in urban areas.

Agreed, use mine on mways, A roads, town, whenever I just want to get there. Special jolies and its off.

Another thing to note, is that if you kickdown, it disengages, ideal for those quick overtakes.

Has mine got one ??

If it has cruise control yes.

Push the stalk in and a wee orange light will illuminate on the stalk, flick it and the limiter will set.

Its the most use in 20mph zones, you just cannot go wrong,if you are in trouble and need speed, just kick down and the car will drop out of the limiter

Yes we have a similar website here

I wouldn't place too much faith in this website. I have just run a check on my car and it has come up with a 34.2mph in a 30 on 5th March 2011. This was at some place in Lowestoft. Lowestoft is in the same County in which I live but best part of 50 miles away from where I live. Oh, and I didn't go even near Lowestoft on the 5th March.
I ran the check again and this time it reported 83.4mph in a 70. Again in Lowestoft. I checked again and 35.3 in a 30. And yes, in Lowestoft.
Either this website has serious accuracy issues (aka crap) or I am very worried about getting three speeding tickets very soon despite I was not in Lowestoft that day, and haven't been for many months.
I expect that if I ran a fourth check it will tell me I've again been clocked at over the speed limit, in Lowestoft.
I'm fearing the postman

Why not look at the photos on the site to see the proof they have?

Some people, eh?

Speeding is shocking and holds no excuses - especially when the PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS WHO WAS DRIVING :p

And a Mercedes driver too.....

I don't get on on here as ofetn as I used to but the one FLAW that sticks out in my mind is the INCONSISTANCY between police fores over the UK. TO my knoweledge, In Warwickshire you are only offered a speed awareness course if you are doing between 34 on 37 MPH in a 30 Zone, and have a clean licence. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE. In West Midlands you are offered a S A C if you have not attended one in the previous 3 years, these are neigbouring forces. So 37 MPH in Warwickshire (23.5%) over the posted limit you are eligable, however 47 in a posted 40 (17.
5%) Will get you a fine and just to take the P1$$ 58 in a 50 (16% will get you a fine) and so on up the scale.
So to be clear on my point I do not condone speeding in any way shape or form. But I fail to understand any logic that says the higher th %age ove the speed limit in the moste populated area earns the least punishment. As for Alex and his 50mph blanket I'm sure that he remembers that it appeared ovenight.

I place ZERO faith in this website. Try it with no registration entered in the search box :p

Turns out with no registration entered, I've got a speeding ticket near Aberdeen. Which is very clever, as I do actually live in Aberdeen.

So the site is doing one of the geographic look ups based on your IP address, or sniffing through your browser cookies to figure out a location for you.

That site wasn't in the least bit funny. My heart sank into my boots.

I was sat here thinking, I'm sure I wasn't speeding the other week.
