Hi!

First, Thank you all, This has been very helpful site to me. I bought SL500 -92 lately. I have a small problem with soft top.

I am living in Finland and we do not have so many R129 cars in here.

Soft top goes back to trunk always without problems.

When I start to lift soft top on, it goes nicely to half a way then it stops (always in exact same position) Then I have to move it all the way back and start again. Sometimes it goes with the first try Sometimes I need 5 tries.

It is not jammed.

Thanks in advance
By the way, we have Summer here.

Normally a window reset does the job for this fault.

If you have a local merc mechanic, get them to test it on a diagnostics computer. It could just be some of the micro switches. Or unfortunately the hood contoller itself, a very expensive item!

Problem solved

It just needed a grease and cleaning to top of the windscreen holes. To locking pins and sensors. No problems after that.:)

A very good lubricant is the PTFE/Silicon sprays that is used for router cutters is very good,it does not stain or leave any mess, I did my 129 with it,it makes a big difference.
