can anyone give me any advise on this one .
i have a w126 380sel v8 model which has been garaged for the last 12 months. a week ago it was driven to my new address which is a 100 mile journey and it ran perfectly although i thought the brakes were a little spongy if anything any way it has been in my garage since then and i needed to move it today when i reversed it out the brake pedal was absolutely solid and required a lot of effort to get very little response. i put it back in again and it was the same.
i have removed the vacuum hose to see if i had suction which i have but still the pedal is solid.
does anyone have any ideas i was planning a brake overhaul incl fluid change but never come accross this before any ideas

Hello, I think that what has happened is that the pistons were rusty and they have stuck on, this is why the pedal is hard, jacking one side and spinning a wheel would confirm this

It may be the control valve inside the servo has sized up.

This sounds like the problem I've been encountering. I would be interested to know if you can feel the Servo kicking in when you initially start the car. Also whether the problem disappears the minute the car revs pick up .ie put it into neutral and rev or just pull away. My problem goes when the accelerator is actuated but is a real ****er if your boxed in and need to manouvre your way out a tight space.

If you put your foot on the brake pedal before you start the car and press. When you start the engine the pedal should move further down as the servo kicks in
