I bought a Y reg, 2000, CLK230 Kompressor Elegance a couple of weeks ago and i'm loving it. But there are a couple of things that i would really appreciate some advice on:

  • Where is the best place to get a replacement key fob as the car only came with one:confused:
  • Should there be a warning buzzer when i switch off the ignition, get out of the car and leave the lights on?
  • I get about 29 mpg on my weekly run from Shropshire to London cruising at about 85, does that sound normal?
  • There was no service history with the car so, in your opinion, would i be better finding a good (hopefully cheaper) independant garage or use a main dealer?

Looking forward to years of ownership

The key fob only comes from the MB dealer, do take ID and the log book with you.
I think that the warning bleep is in the menu.

The MPG sonds OK to me.

Do use an indie and you can halve the servicing cost.

Thanks Malcolm. Do you mean the 'in-car' menu for the warning bleep?

That is correct. Its worth buying a hand book about £18 but well worth it.
