OK - so I know I shouldn't be asking this about my little Mercedes petrol runabout, but is there any way to reduce the cabin noise, reasonably simply. Although the little petrol engine itself is quiet and smooth (maybe I could still insulate the lid though?) I'm very aware of noise from passing cars and wonder if the door cards could be padded - or something done to make the interior sound more like the wonderful CLK 270 when it's nicely warmed up and on the motorway. I'm guessing it's impossible! Why did they ever stop making those 5 cylinder cars after only 5 yrs?
