Sourcing Centre Silencer for 1997 W210 E320 V6...?

Hello forum. Quick question:

I have a 1997 W210 E320 V6 saloon. The centre silencer noisy & my mechanic (Alex Crow in Stowmarket - widely recommended on here) ordered a replacement for me. However, when the new silencer arrived, it couldn't be used. It only has one "out" pipe, whereas the one on my car has two.

Centre silencers are sold on eBay, but they appear to only have a single out pipe too.

Can anyone advise where I might get the right part please? (The alternative is to replace the entire exhaust system beyond the front cats, but that's a much more expensive job & I'm very reluctant to do it on an old car - would probably cost more than the car is worth).

Wrong in the sense that it doesn't fit, yes. But all the main parts suppliers seem to offer the same "two in, one out" setup for my car. Makes me wonder if the exhaust system on my car is somehow non-standard. Dunno.

There are a couple of suppliers on eBay based in Germany who are offering to sell the whole shebang (centre & rear silencers, connecting pipes between, etc.) for less than £100, but to me that seems suspiciously cheap...?

Alex would know if it was non-standard.

Anyway, limited choice then. Might be worth a punt on the £100 system but always a risk it won't fit or is made of chewing gum wrappers
