You can get ebay replacement keys to open the doors thats quite easy but you will never get one to start the car.The previous owner has probably got a cheap replacement key in the hope he will be able to program it to start the car.I am in the same boat with only one key I am loathing going to MB for a replacement.

Not quite on the same vien,,but all of the big BMW's of the 90s went, as the engine ECU cost more than any of the cars were worth, the 126 escaped
