Spare wire near can connectors.

I lifted the carpet on my 2003 R230 passenger side to check for damp and found that there is a white wire not connected at the CAN connectors under the carpet. I've done a search of the forum and can find no mention of a white wire. Does anyone know what it it might be for please?

Maybe redundant.
I would worry more about the water atm.
