Hi to everybody here . I have a small problem- I install taxi meters in the Mercedes Benz cars. But recently I have been struggling to get information from Mercedes Benz themselves about the new cars and where the signal comes from. In the old MB cars a speed signal can be found behind the radio, probably in the models up to 1999-2000 year. My question is- can somebody help me with information where can I get a pulse signal in the MB cars from year 2000 up to year 2007 for the E and C class ? I know that some models of the new ones require a can bus interface unit, which must be connected so that the taxi meter can get a proper signal-I have such units, and the info I have is that I must connect them in the fuse box in the engine compartment where there are 2 wires- green and green-white- CAN HI and CAN LO . But how do I determine which model will require a canbus and which one do not ? The guys from Mercedes Benz here are not willing to help me at all, as you know, the car manufactories are notorious for not allowing anything to be connected to the cars after they sell them. But my meters are approved for Mb cars, but I can not get info as to where can I find the speed pulse signal for the different models throughout the years from 1999 -2007 and which ones need a can bus and which ones do not need one?
Please guys, any info will be helpful, my email is bgboy@telkomsa.net if somebody wants to ask me more questions, you are welcomed to send me an email.
Thank you
