speedo change ? plz help

Can anyone tell me if you can change the speedo from a W123 240D with one from a W123 300D ? The only visible diference is the top speed shown, but I wondered if they were calibrated differently ?.......Thanks Andy

Yes my son they should be the same. I think the 240D and 300D used the same final drive ratio.

cheers thats the most welcome news.....I only posted it there coz I couldnt find any links to post on the tech page....the reason I asked was I have ordered a Zebrano wood cover from the USA for the speedo fascia and thought I would fit it to another speedo head and then exchange them so I was'nt off the road for too long )
