Spice up a SL500 R230

Hi

Are there any 'safe' non engine destroying mods for thr R230 SL500?. Is remapping the ECU a good option....or can you super/turbocharge the engine? I know it's a powerful engine to begin with, but more is better!

Any Thoughts?

Superchips

Superchips do good ecu chip mods either rrpelacements or remapping yours (I dont know which one they will recommend for your car) They have quoted £299 for mine fitted and there are dealers all over the place and it should give better mid range and about 12 - 14 bhp more. A quick Google search should give you a start point

Interestingly enough Superchips quote 15HP Paramount Performance with a remap quote 20 - 25Hp extra. Does anybody have first hand experience with either? Or are there other methods.

If you can mate it to the rest of your car -nightmare! + if you have a 7 speed gearbox, the 55AMGs are 5 speed.

I understand a supercharger system would cost about £17k all in unless you're clever with a spanner. Well, really clever with a spanner. Probably makes more financial sense to sell the SL500 and buy an SL55 AMG.
