Hi Everyone..
I replaced the discs and pads on my E220 today ..
Basically I took top off brake reservoir and then changed as required..everything went as it should ( or so I thought)..When finished, I pumped the brake pedal before driving to get the pedal feel back , but on test drive the brake pedal was very spongy..
On returning home I noticed one of the back retaining clips had come off .. I took rear wheel off and noticed I hadn’t clipped it in correctly ( my bad ) . Do you think with this clip missing it would have caused the sponginess?
Now that it is correctly placed should the brakes return back to a more normal feel..?
The only other thing I noticed is that the brake reservoir level was way above the max level, do you think I should remove some fluid down to max level mark ?
Ill test drive again tomorrow and see if it has improved now that the clip is in properly..
Many thanks for any advice or suggestions
