If cameras were high profile,then nobody in their right minds would break the speed limit.Presumably accident rates etc. would fall. Objective achieved.BUT revenue would also fall dramatically. Doesn't take a genius...........

Errrrrrrm - Cameras here (in this Province, anyway) ARE high profile. The law states that advance warning signs MUST be given where a speed camera is in use.

It doesn't stop speeding, as those who do so, are well aware of the cameras and can slow down inbetween.

Having said that, the number of roadside speed cameras with their lenses spray-painted over, is quite comforting

I think that you will find that the tripods with a camera are for numberplate recognition and not speed cameras
