Just fitted a SPRINTBOOSTER to my 2004 SL600, absolutely fantastic!
It is a small device that fits between the electronic throttle and the ECU, just unplug the lead from the pedal, and insert the unit, nothing else required.
The car now responds as soon as the throttle is pressed and although this device in no way alters the performance or power, the effect is dramatic.
Instead of hesitating every time you pull away, and slowly accelerating, the throttle now responds like a sports car.
It costs £160.00 + vat and took me less than an hour to fit, after removing the panel under the dash on the driver's side, 3 screws.
If I had spent £2k+ on engine mods and got this kind of response, I would have thought it was money well spent.
Different models for auto and manual. No advertisng, so just put SPRINTBOOSTER into google.

Yes I know many people with them, and maybe I will fit one to my SL500, it alters the throttle from a log movement to a lin and you do not feel that you are flooring it

Welcome to the forum and you have the only 600 that I know

I should imagine an SL600 has a fair amount of lag.... (only joking)

Funny my dad who drives an SL500 and E320Cdi used my ML350 the other day and commensted how he though the throttle was 'instant'.

I wonder if someone previous has fitted it? as it does seem to launch at the slightest touch.

Welcome by the way and we WANT pictures please.

Thanks

Are these "sprintboosters" available for an E300td? The one thing that has disappointed me with the car is the hesitation when first accelerating.

The booster gives the same effect as you flooring the pedal without having to do that.. the engine out put is not increased

The sprintbooster does not increase the power of the engine, just the way the ECU interprets the signal, basically it "amplifies" the output, you could duplicate the effect if you were quick enough with your right boot!

I think it would be a valuable addition, I had a 500 before this 600 and it was extremely sluggish and slow off the mark, quite a disapointment, but as I had one of the first ones, I didn't mind as it was a novelty at the time.
I see the new 350 has as much power as the old 500 now, so the problem was addressed.
I did have a Superchip fitted, but all that did was sharpen it up a bit and give me more mpg.

Cool car. Let me know if you need it exercised when you are 'out of the country' :)
