Hi, i found this superb site by accident! lol! I hope somebody can help me here, as i have a little problem with
my 1996 N Reg, Sprinter 208 swb, 2.3 Non Turbo Diesel Model.
It has developed a very strange fault, in that when you go to start it from cold, The Glow Plug light DOES NOT come on when i turn the ignition on.
It appears that it is not getting a heat, and it just turns over & over. It has only just started doing this, So i tried a tiny ammount of easy start to see what would happen, and it started perfect. However, i KNOW this IS NOT the way to start it every day!!!!
once the van gets started, the Glow Plug light comes on????? The engine in the van is a belter, it is not on its last legs or anything, & once started the van drives superb.
I am just confussed as to why the glow plug light comes on after the van is started, and Not when i go to start it.
Also, to switch the van off, i have to stall it, as the ignition does not turn it off????? i Know it makes the van sound an old dog, but it is not, it
really drives well, with no other issues.
I hope this makes sense to somebody, and i look forward to maybe getting to the bottom of it.
Many Thanks
