Hi Everyone,
I have a huge problem with my sprinter. It keeps cutting out on me. When it does so,sometimes it starts straight away, other times i need recovering. I have had a replacement ECU,Fuseboard,Wiring Loom from ECU to Engine,Ignition Module all to no avail. The garage i take it to i trust as i have known the owner for 15 years. When he plugs it in the reading is " Capacitor 1 under voltage". He believes it is an electrical problem but cant quite get to the bottom of it. Today im told it could be 1 wire from the ecu to the dash that when is cut the reading fault is the same.
Can anyone shed any light on this whatsoever,as i run a small business and as im sure everyone is aware , the economic climate isnt that good!!

Any help or idea would be most helpful..
Andy

You need to have it code read with a Star as some diagnostic readers will not show up all codes.

the CPS fails most often when the engine is warm / hot, then restart some 20 mins or so later, sometimes it will fail all together. the engine will crank, but not fire up.

Thanks for all the replies/suggestions. Deffo not the injectors...had all 4 changed in Jan. CPS been tested..not that either. Changed a 2.5mm wire from behind the dash today that seems to have been building resistance.
Every sensor/valve seems to be ok and narrowed things down to this wire!!

Let you know...

Can you share details about WHICH wire it was? Like, what it was connected to, color, location, etc.

I have been having the same problem, and would like to find a solution.
