So there i am, cruising down the A1 at about 65mph completely unloaded and a sudden bump, the EDC light comes on and i've got no power, nothing at all. Dip the clutch and the engine stalls. So i flick off the ignition, and back on again, and it springs back to life. All is well for a couple of miles, and then the same thing happens again. This happened maybe a dozen times on the way to my job. I had look around when i got to the venue, and everything looked to be fine. I've driven home today and everything appears to be perfect.

It's completely shutting the fuel off. But a reset of the ignition clears it.

Its a 52 plate 311, it's 131k on the clock. It is a couple of thousand miles off a service, but it had a fuel filter on the last one. Water is drained from the filter.

I think Dava would be the man you'd like to reply to this one but I'm sure I've read various threads (Dava's) about wires rubbing through. Try perhaps at the bottom of the radiator.

The wiring loom here was replaced about 18 months back. The usual issues here aren't at fault.

No related fault codes are showing up.

Anyone else any ideas on this. Local garage has had it on the computer, no fault codes, nothing appears out of place, loose, missing, damaged, on fire, dressed as a clown, so i'm at a bit of a loose end with it. I've got about 1000 miles to do from friday to sunday so i'm a bit concerned.
