Sprinter Fan Belt Screaming

Hi, one of our sprinters fan belts makes a not very healthy noise. We live with it as it doesnt affect the performance of the engine but it is getting to a point where it is embarrassing to send the vehcie on private hire doesnt exactly fill the customer with confidence im sure when a vehcile sounding like this pulls up. Ive attached a youtube vid of the vechile. We currently spray the fan belt with WD40 which works to stop the sound for a day or so. Any advice on how we can stop this would be apprechiated.

its had many belts pete but still the noise continues

check the bearings on the idler pulleys, alternator etc as any of them could cause a squeal like that! id also check the belt tension. if the belt is too slack it will squeal, too tight it will knacker bearings in alternators etc! id go round all the pulleys checking for roughness/play and replace any suspect ones.

pete thanks for the advice. I will get our fitter to check what you have advised, have also been advised to purchase some belt dressing spray, will update if we can rectify the problem.

Make sure the pulleys are aligned properly.
