Hello. I have just bought a year2000 E200 Estate from a local car dealer. The car was mot'd prior to collection. A rear coil spring was cracked and so replaced - just the one side. There is now a squeaking coming from that area. What is this likely to be? Your advice would be appreciated. (The car has done a fair few miles 190000 to be precise, but appears to have been maintained well.MBSH to 165k and local garage since.). Thanks.

Get some PTFE and spray it into the roll bar bushes, and try it

Thanks for the advice Malcolm. Could you tell me what the initials stand for re the spray you suggest. Also can you access the area that needs spraying without the car being on a ramp. Having spent more time driving the car this morning I'm insure whether the squeak is from the interior or the rear passenger side wheel area. Any thoughts? Please bear in mind I am not the most mechanically-minded individual. Thanks.

PTFE polytetrafluroethylene, a dry lubricant, aka teflon as applied to MPs sholuders.

The rear suspension arm bushes should only be tightened up with the cars weight on its wheels otherwise the bushes get a permanent torque load and they can/will squeak.
