Anyone got any ideas what it could be? Could it be the bearings in the front ? If so anyone any have an ideas of costs to replace?

I am so nervous about this car, I think I am either going to get ripped off or bad workmanship.

I wish I had someone I could trust who would just do the work for a fair rate and ideas in South East London/Kent?

I'm no expert but sounds like it could be your brake discs making contact with the pads which would indicate play in the wheel bearing(s). Shouldn't be an expensive fix - maybe 1 hours labour + the cost of the parts.

Bit hard to diagnose from such a minimum of detail. Could be something as simple as pads worn out and the wear indicator rubbing on the disc as it is supposed to. Have you checked your pads?? Could also be a small stone lodged in the caliper and squealing against the disc. If so, driving backwards for 50 metres or so should dislodge it. Most unlikely it would be a bearing - they generally don't squeal, they rumble.
