Hi all, I bought car in May this year with srs light on and fault showing on dash. Asked about this fault in my local MB garage they said there was a fault with this model in that the wiring loom was to short going to steering wheel and showing a fault .He said it required an extension cable at 20euros and approx 200euros to fit took car to indie he cleared fault and it reappeared 2 days later he checked it again and said fault showing Driver airbag, ignition squirb 1, resistance too high. was wondering had anyone else come accross this problem and is it difficult to remove steering wheel and airbag Thanks, Damian

The air bag is held on with 2 28 torx screws you need a 2" long bit to go in the holes on the rear. the steering wheel requires a 10mm hex key,, these are very tight but easy on an air impact like they use for removing wheels.. I use my local garage for this and borrow their air tool.

Yes, the connector pins for the airbag and steering control module need to be replaced with a longer repair wirring loom which is extened by 30cm.
