Hi,

SRS Controller was diagnosed as faulty and changed.

Now two new codes have turned up.....

B1869 The resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component R12/11 (Left rear side airbag ignition squib) is too high.

B1873 The resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component R12/11 (Right rear side airbag ignition squib) is too high.

Any ideas on how to check this ?

Check that your rear seat belt stalks have retracted, has it had a bump?? The stalks shud sit proud of the rear cusion.

It could be that you dont have have rear side air bags and they need to be coded out.

Thanks.
I am not aware of any accidents.

There are no signs of "SRS AIRBAG" labels in the back roof or in the doors - does this mean there are none fitted.

Can you please explain the stalks statement - not sure what to look for.

OK how do I prove this ?

If the SRS controller was coded for no rear air bags and it still fails then this to me mean it is a fault with the controller. Is this logical.

Possibly but i doubt it, get it checked and coded and let us know if it still comes up with a fault, i would be amazed if it does!!!

Booked back in.

According to MB against the VIN number there are curtain airbags fitted, no signs in the cabin though ?

I'll ask for the coding to be checked again and identify what has been coded.

Will update post this.

Those fault codes are for the side airbags in the doors which it sounds like you havnt got fitted.

Yes, correct, I don't have these airbags, checked with the original dealer they were never fitted.

Can you advise how you have concluded the airbags these codes refer too ?

R12/11 That is the terminology mb use for the side (door) bags. R12 is the mb designation for a airbag or seat belt tensior and 11is which one. all the airbags on the car have a different number R12/--.

The discription also tells me it is reffering to the rear left and right side bags.

This and over 10 years experience!!!
