SRS lights ON

I started my car after 25 days, and SRS indicator light came ON. The "airbags OFF" light at the center console also turned ON.
When I drive the car, the SRS indicator goes off for a few seconds, but again comes up.

Any idea what to check before I take this to MB dealer and waste time and money.

Possibly a low voltage fault is now logged in the srs ecu, dealer reset should be quick and cheap.

IS there any ways, I can do that my self. Becuase dealer is 1-1/2 hour drive and they are neither quick nor cheap.

Unless you have a star diagnosis pc its a trip to the dealer i'm afraid, just means you have no airbags for now, hey I manage every day without one. :wink:

Thanks, I guess I'll have to go the MB dealer.
I can manage without airbags, Its just the damn red light, I do not like

I had same problem. It happend to be a broken child seat recognition sensor in the front passengers seat.

ECU Reset

Have a search of this forum, But an ECU reset can be achieved by gounding one of the pins in the diagnostic plug with a short wire.

Ithink on the older (later 124's) 129's etc this was possible, but with the latest can line systems you need to hook up a pc to communicate with the control units.
