Anyone know of a place to get a stainless exhaust system for our 91- 300TE-24V in Hampshire? I am starting to look around in preparation for a complete exhaust change.

Is it ok to 'forget' to refit the CAT as well?

I would have thought Micheldever tyres would be able to supply and fit any exhaust you wanted. They usually can order in whatever you want and they should be competitive.

Micheldever is near Winchester.

Cheers,
Aurora.

Hi,
I think April 92 registration is the critical date for a cat (to pass MOT).
You could have your exhaust supplier fabricate a straight through pipe to replace the cat, however I think there is little point as your management system will still take signals from the lamda probe and set the CO accordingly, as if the cat is still there and needs to be fed!
The reason you lose performance and economy with a cat is because the engine has to be run slightly out of tune to make the cat work, not because of the cat itself.
If your car is earlier than April 92 registration you could fit the straight through pipe to save money compared to a new cat and should be able to achieve the < 3.5% CO easily, but I don't think you will notice any improved performance.
Check with your MOT centre what is required from your car before going ahead!
