Bad Luck. It seems a common problem in the UK. Here, you see quite elderly MB's - still with their bonnet star intact :p

A new star is relatively inexpensive, it's the damage it causes that's the biggest problem.

You need to set up some CCTV or even just use a webcam and leave it on so that if someone comes onto your drive you can see them. We always leave our cars as far from the front of the drive as possible at night and close the gates. Our gates are so hard to open that the last time the Police knocked regarding damage done to a neighbour's car they commented on how difficult it was to access our property ;)

Well, if Lyn lives on the island from signature, is really hard for everyone to get close to her star...

Doh.
Mercedes must churn out millions of star emblems.
I always make a point of parking my car on the drive with the nose pointing in towards the house.
You can get a good quality star for about £15. Don't buy the cheap ones for a tenner though. I bought one of those, and the finish was terrible! (all pimply)

See we always park ours with the nose pointing out as it's hard to reverse out of our drive :(
