Hi i've got a merc sprinter 311 on a Y reg.
The other day it wouldnt start and seemed to have drained the battery. I fitted a new battery and still nothing. When i turn the key to position 2 all the dash lights come on but when i turn it to position3 (cranking position) it doesnt even attempt to turn the engine. By shorting across the starter motor it turns over but wont fire up. I eventually got it going, Butwas wondering if these two faults were connected, and if anybodies got any ideas?
