Hi, i have a problem wth startng my car, i know it may be a bit difficult to help over such a distance but ill try and describe what is going on as best i can and we can go from there.
Right, car was running fine. Turned it off, then after about 5 mins, returned to the car to set off again and as i turned the ignition and cranked the car it gave a little bang. Not sure if this bang was a backfire, something going boom or what. After this boom the car didnt start it just struggled on cranking. After repeated attempts to get the car started, i gave up and went home. Returned to the car the the following day and still the same problem. I have however been able to start it after repeatadly turning ignition on and off, priming the fuel pump for about a minuite, then the car will start but will not run by itself. I have to constantly have my foot on the accelarator pedal adjusting as i go and not letting it go below 4k revs as it will drop down and stall and i have to start all over again. If i constantly adjust accel pedal i can keep the car going for about 5 mins. Soon as i stop, revs die off and car wont restart unless aformentioned procedure is done. That procedure doesnt always work, but its the only way i have found to get the car running. This sudjest to me it is only, (hopefully) something simple.
I have looked through a engine starting problem sheet for general issues. but cannot seem to get the car running.
