starting problem

    hi i have c220 cdi on a 51plate 70k on clock,when i start the car first thing in the morning it starts for about 5secs the cuts out,i have to restart it for about 10/15sec with a bit of throttle then its starts?it then drines perfect is it because of the cold weather?any help,it has had a fuel filter change at 35k,

    Air in the fuel system (diagnose would pinpoint if so). Probably cause one of these: O-rings of injector return lines, o-rings of other low pressure lines, o-rings of pressure sensor/regulator, injector internal leak, hp pump internal/external leak. Do a search, lotsa discussion in the forum...

    Replacing the plastic fuel lines usually cures this
