Hi guys;

I have a 1979 450 SLC.

The cars starts ok when cold but takes about 7 seconds before the cold start valve supplies the fuel.When it starts it is not a smooth start ; the engine seems desperate to turn over.When it starts everything seems fine.

However when the engine has reached operating temperature during driving; it has difficulty starting if the car is switched off for about 15 minutes.If I switch off the car and restart immediately ; i have not problems starting it.The problem only seems to be if i leave it for about 15 min.It can take about 20 seconds of swinging before it will start.

I also noticed that the take off power is a little sluggish.
could it be timing related?

all suggestions and thoughts will be appreciated.
regards
collin

Hi
Are you in Uganda ?
Check the voltage drop at the cold start injector.

either that or the fuel pumps on its way out , low pressure would mean it takes time to restart after its left for a while
