Hi

I had my car checked over. And it needs ball joints, bushes and idler bush replacing I was quoted £355 all in inc vat and labour by a private garage. Is this a good price?

Also I was told to replace the bushes the wishbones have to be replaced is this true.

All depends on experience and equipment, use the search facility at the top of the page as it has been covered before, not sure if for the W202 but the job is similar.
Just make sure you have a good spring compressor; the internal type if possible.

The correct spring compressor is essential, unless you wish to have a very nasty, painful and exbensive accident. Some people take off the wishbone complete. If you go down this route then may I suggest that you mark the ecsentric washers in relation to position on the chassis. Reason being that they set the camber angle.
