CLK230 Convertable. 2.3 litres
Hi everbody, This is my first post on the forum, I've just bought a CLK230 convertable and the vehicle already had the fault. hence the reasonable price. The BAS/ESP light is illuminated and the previous owner had it checked by a dealer and the fault came up as a contact piece costing £70 MMA210 460 00 49, which is much better than a £200 SAS.
My question is, does anybody know if a star code reader can distinguish between the SAS being faulty or the contact piece. I would hate to spend £70 on this part, fit it and then find out that the problem was the SAS. Has anyone had a similar experience.
I did speak to a technician in the York MB dealership today and he was most unhelpful and also had quiet a attitude about him, (it's the last time I go there for advice). Thanks,

Cliff
