Steering lock won't unlock - help!

Apologies about the cross-post but not sure which section best suits this issue - my steering lock won't unlock - not sure if this is a mechanical or electrical problem:

By all means try a battery disconnect, with the key out.

If this does not work it will mean a new EZS ignition switch

If your car has the electronic 3 button key, try your spare key, if this does,nt work like Malcolm says it will more than likely be your ignition switch (EIS switch).
If you have no spare key, it will be a gamble to whether its your key that is U/S or the EIS switch.
