Good replacement?

Wonder if that bit can be vinyl wrapped?

Or if it can be detached, sand & sprayed or hydro dipped?

I was thinking about wrapping
I was wondering what I could do just to stop it before getting worse
Don’t want to spent a load of money if possible
I know it’s should be done right but funds are a little light at the moment

If funds are tight I would live with it.
I can’t see that being done well without costing a fair wack.
To maybe stop it perhaps a little tape over it (not with a strong adhesive) as you don’t want it peeling all the layer off once removed.
Pretty strange delamination that.

Cheers
I was thinking about some black tape and just covering it and the using a scalpel to cut the back to suit the steering wheel
It would only be around 12mm x 150mm strip and it will be covered
