Evening all

Does anyone know how much I would be looking at for a new/like new condition steering wheel (grey leather/Wood with the command buttons) for a 2001 CLK 320 Convertible? Mines a bit worn and tired and I was considering replacing it?

Cheers

Shaun

Hi,
From Euromerc I was quoted £250 for a leather and carbon fibre AMG style sport steering wheel (no buttons), that was brand new in MB box, no airbag, if you wanna replace the air bag budget for more money as they are approx. £400-500 new, and thats a conservative estimate.
A direct replacement for your standard wheel (without airbag) I would be expecting to pay in the region of £150-£200.

Thanks Malcolm. Unfortunately the leather has worn right down on the right hand side and the rubber covering of the buttons is starting to peal off. It doesn't look that bad to be honest, but would be nice to have it look like new!

Cheers

Thanks Andy - was hoping for around the £200 mark (well was hoping for £1.50, but don't think that will happen somehow!). I'll take a look. Cheers Shaun

I would be interested to find someone local to undertake work like this, I cant find a reasonable trimmer anywhere in Herts!

Dealership costs for steering wheels are frightening so you're definately going the right way about it. Could you please let us know how you get on?

Regards.
