Hi, can anyone help?

The parking brake is operating fine but when the handle is pulled it doesn't release all the way, if you put a toe underneath and "assist" it works though. Is there a tensioner or something similar that needs adjustment?

Thanks, Steve

Possibly, for fear of sounding a bit thick, how do I lube the cable? :D

hello jo and steve, this is usually just an adjustment issue, how many clicks do you have when you engage the brake and how far does it travel?

....unless there is lots of travel, then it will just need adjustment, very common occurence on the w203

Err, loads, seems to travel quite a long way

You can take up some play with the parking brake shoe adjusters in the rear hubs , this usually takes care of excessive slack

Jo & Steve, you need to free off the sticking parkbrake cable adjuster to cure your problem. The best way is to remove the rear seat base and remove the black cover plate to gain access to the adjuster. Use WD40 and give a generous squirt then get someone to work the parkbrake on and off. Get hold of the threaded adjuster rod and make sure it moves laterally also. Alan

You still need to adjust the shoes before the cable
