I have just bought a 1984 230E D). BUT trying to start it is becoming an 'issue' so would appreciate any advice please
The key goes in the ignition barrel fine - no problem
Then it takes a little 'wiggling' about (4-5 times) before it will turn to the 'on' postion and start the car.
I heard a horror story (from a local mechanic) of ignition barrels in these old cars sticking in the 'locked' position and the whole thing having to be ground off!! - time consuming AND expensive...
Should I worry......
Any suggestions.... do I keep using the car..... or...
