still a query about my autobox

hi all
sorry to be a pain in the backside butwas reading a thread last night about atf been filled with water from the trans cooler in the rad now when i sorted mine on friday ie put atf in the box because was showing none on my dipstick could my atf be going into the water or is it always water going in to the atf if ya know what i mean

could my car be affected by this situation it is a c class sport auto on a 99 plate it is the square headlight model

My understanding is that there is always more pressure in the coolant system so it's a one way route into the auto box. Besides, if it were the otherway you would have coolant/ATF fluid mix rising in your radiator system and you would see it. Any expert care to confirm this?

thanx for that have checked fluid level again today and its just above the min mark so now i know where its sitting at i will kep an eye on it for a few weeks

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
You need to get under the car and look for leaks. The ATF will be going somewhere, it may be pooling on the plastic trays under the car.
