Looking on the brighter side,,you will get the 2010 disc

I'm thinking now that I may have lost a High School Musical DVD that was in the Comand unit. Honest it isn't mine the girls watch it whilst waiting in the car.
I spoke too soon :-( the navigation side of the Comand isn't working, it just asks for a disk to be installed in the boot. The light work and the disc spins up in the boot but the head unit cannot see it. I asked them last weekend to do a test on it to see if the head unit was connected to the boot unit. They said it all looked fine and they said they had done a "wireless" short test. I didn't know that my car could connect to star via wireless? I've only ever seen it connected under the dash. Anyone know if that is correct or was I fed a line?
I'm waiting for them to collect it at the moment and strip it back down.
Yes, I did have to get them to remove the back seat to get all the glass out but the marks came off the dash.Did the marks come off the dash OK?
Thanks Cole, nothing was plugged into the car that I could see. I will be speaking to the service manager and asking for his comments. The new star machines are wirless Russ, thats prob what they mean, you still have to plug the head unit in!!
Why do villains prefer to enter the car via the rear quarterlight?
Agreed, they cannot do that though if the child locks are on.because its easier

Any idea why it isn't talking to the boot unit? When it was missing I could see the fibre optics were working as I could see the light in the loose connector.
Parked right by the building underneath the CCTV camera. Yes the site is locked so you cannot drive a car off but there is nothing to stop you walking over or around the barrier to look at the cars. I've done that enough times previously looking around at used cars without salespeople bugging me.Sorry to hear about your unit being stolen. It is a worrying trend. I try to buy cars with everything 'built in' as I was under the impression they are more secure or harder to steal.
Imagine if this happened while the car was in your custody? You would have had to foot all this yourself.
Going to watch where I park from now on...
An aside; don't the dealers have any security on site? Surely the alarm would have gone off?
I have a CD changer I've not tried if that works as yet, but I will once I get home. The iPod integration and bluetooth phone works. The E (up to 08/08 IIRC) has a separate DVD drive in the boot for the navigation disc so shouldn't need to be told it has one as it cannot work without it. Post 08/08 it switched to a hard drive based system so no boot DVD drive. The head unit must be told that a CD changer is on the car, what mystifies me is that if I fit a new laser head, its like me not testing it to see if it works OK,,you always try a disc.
