dear all,

I've a 2002 w211 220 CDI.

When I turn ignition key on, I ear the already discussed srs brake pump noise, something that I've got used to.

Meanwhile, I ear one (or two?) very acute noises in the engine, simultaneous with the break pump noise. The noise remains for a while (5 sec.) when the key is turned off.

I did a small video with 3 sections (camera in different parts of the motor) each with 3 parts: ignition off, ignition on (engine not started), ignition off.
You may listen the noise I mean.

Sometimes the engine do not start. Waiting some minutes it starts, at least so far no major problem, but I'm very concerned. I believe that it may be related with the a.m. noises.

Any help/comment is welcome.

The things that can make noises,
ABS pump
Fuel injection and fuel lift pump (all one on your car)
Not sure if you have SRS on a 2002 car.

thanks, what do you mean by fuel lift pump, the one that pull from the tank ? fuel injection is activated before ignition ?

here (where I am) MB do not service this car, so my problem. meanwhile I found that MB Sprinter (with 270 engine) is available thru a separated service network so I will look for service there.

Can this be related with a clogged diesel filter ? I have a new one in the trunck, I can replace it, do you have any instructions for DIY ?
