Streaming music from phone

I have no idea if I'm just doing something wrong but I'm trying to connect the audio on my phone to the speakers in the car and not having any success.

The phone is paired via bluetooth and making and receiving phone calls works fine, but no matter how many YouTube videos I watch nothing seems to work when I try to stream music. Not sure what version of Command the car has but it's the kind where you buy the SD card and slot it in, so we would have bought that back in 2016. My phone is a Samsung S9.

Any advice very much appreciated as I'm fed up of listening to Smooth FM every day

All comand units facilitate BT telephony by some means. This doesn't mean they all facilitate BT music streaming.
Figure out your command unit / post a pic and then it can be determined if your unit is music BT capable.

On mine, I believe you have to set up Bluetooth for audio independently of setting it up for phone,

With mine I press media button then select the Bluetooth device . Which has to be paired beforehand.

Your unit maybe one of the last kind with a built in 10 gig hard drive you can upload music to via that SD card slot ...

I somehow managed to pair them and got as far as it recognising the audio but it would only play this track, every other track on my phone it said wasn't in my library, even though it is. It's a bit dark and cold now so I will try again tomorrow
Just getting this far was good for me

Check the tracks are all the same format and all in one folder on your phone.
