Hi Folks,

I am at my wits end i have been trying to remove a stuck injector in my W202 c220 Cdi. I have tried, carb cleaner, WD40, Plus Gas and acid from Wonder Wheels wheel cleaner and then also last night warmed the car up hot and tried a injector puller kit, but no joy it is stuck solid. Also, i noticed the acid has turned brown, maybe indicating rust ? Any ideas please ?

A slide hammer is the way ahead and some careful heat around the cold injector.

Do you advise using a heat gun used for stripping paint as I have'nt got any oxyacetaline torches ?

Why not, but it will be difficult to get enough heat into what is effectively a big heat sink (the engine).
Freeze spray on the injector body might be a better approach.

Im not sure I would try that approach. You risk damaging the cylinder head.

I have never failed to get an injector out of a head by either using a proper weighted slide hammer or by stripping the injector top down and pulling it out. A hot engine is required ideally but not essential. I would just say you havent got the right equipment or approach to succeed. But I wouldnt apply direct heat.

Thankyou for your advice. I tried again last night and used the freeze spray and then the slide hammer and what i found was minute pieces of carbon particles coming out but the injector has not moved at all. In the end I decided to call it a day after 5 days of trying. I have put it all back together and the car is still mobile all be it that it is probably working on 3.5 injectors instead of 4, at least this way i can crawl to a Garage. Anyone recommend any injector removal specialists in Harrow. I have found one called Sharp Autos but they are in Bracknell, which is a 35 mile drive.

If you are going to go to Bracknell then you may as well go and see Ian at Star Motors Service in Caversham, Im sure he will have it out in a jiffy!

Quick update for everyone, through a friend and contact of a contact I got Wayne Gates Mercedes Indie, he is in fact a forum supporter. It took him about an hour with a hydraulic puller and at one stage he was afraid it might crash through the rocker cover. I recommend Terry Gates at Wayne Gates anytime
