Has anyone else had any problems trying to sell a car on Auto Trader?

We've spent about the last hour trying to put in our payment details for advertising our car all to no avail.

I put Keith's card details in so many times that he had to go down to the bank and reset his Pin as the bank stopped the card due to the amount of times I was putting his details onto the site.

I then tried using my credit card, which was also refused

I've also tried using my debit card and that was refused too

Auto Trader seem to have a problem recognising our address for some reason. So now our advert sits in the 'shopping basket' and I'm at a loss as to how I can get the advert up and running as all the advice I am being by Auto Trader is about as much use a chocolate fireguard

I find that the cards that I acquire can be difficult to use on line

I also had problems with them. I had moved house since I had first sold a car with them years before but still had the same email address. Their system couldn't cope with that. A phone call sorted it out

3 cards and none work!!!!

Well I've since placed an order for groceries with Keith's card, which is for a lot more money than the car ad, and that went through fine :p

I've also just used my card to pay my NEXT bill and that also went through fine, so I know it's not our cards that are the problem

Our address does seem to be a problem with Auto Trader as it doesn't seem to recognise it, yet when I phoned them they found our address but said I couldn't place the ad over the phone as it was an internet ad :(

I have sold three cars on Aoutotrader this year without any problems with the cards or payments, but, be aware they are often targeted by scammers. I got an e-mail from a potential "buyer" stating that they were interested in my car but were confused by the fact that there was 2 cars exactly the same? they posted a link in my e-mail, so I naturally had a look. This link took me to what looked like Autotrader's log in page, but I was suspicious and didn't take the bait. I contacted Autotrader later and discovered it was a scam. If I had logged in to that page they would have got my details---so be careful!

The 'new' autotrader site is a right mess, slow to load, jerky and very non-user-friendly.

I have had major computer problems the last two times I visited the site and keep well away from it now
