Sun Roof.

Hope this is in the right section, Mod's please move it if it ins not. I am getting groans and clicking noises when I go over bump's on uneven road's, it seems to be coming from the sun roof I wonder if any one on here has had the same problem ? Car is C Class 220 diesel W205.

Is it only in Cold/Frosty weather? My C207 did it the other day on a Really cold/Frosty morning, went ok later in the day and the next morning when it was warmer.

No it's been doing it for months now.

Are you sure that its the sunroof and not suspension related?
Does the noise go away if the roof is fully open or tilted?

It just sound's like it's in the sun roof, it happens with it open or tilted or closed.

I had a similar groan/squeak from an E-class Coupe, only when the roof was open. Car was quite new so fixed under warranty but the solution, according to the dealer, was grease lubrication.

There were a few issues with the Sunroof/Moonroof on a few Merc models and the solution for a lot was to have the rooves re greased. I can't remember what the grease was that is needed but believe it is a DIY sort of job. Mine, an 07 E350 had recall because of the roof, have you checked to see if the same mioght apply to your car?

I have tried re lubricating it but it don't seem to make any difference.
