Hello again everyone,
The sunroof on my (W126) 1987 420 SEL will not open. I soldered a wire and repaired a short in the trunk that enabled my trunk light and sunroof motor to work.
The switch is functioning correctly. When I turn the key too the number two position I can hear the motor run and see the cable move forward and backwards.
The problem is that the cable is not connected.
I have done some reading on what is necessary to make repairs to this system and it all reverts back to removing the headliner. But to remove the headliner the sunroof must be opened ¾ of the way.
Question: Does any one know how to get the sunroof open when the cable is broken or not attached to the sunroof?
