Supercharger or turbo charger - which one ?

My understanding in the old days was supercharger loads of low down power and turbos for peakier power, but modern engines arent like this at all, to ****** clever by half, but amazing all the same.

I think merc superchargers dont come in until approx 2500rpm either elec clutch or as learnt the other day centrifugal clutch.

Im a truck mech and each newer model has similiar bhp as old one but loads more torque from lower rpms, all turbocharged by the way and i assume car technology is similiar.

Supercharger prob easier to retrofit especially if you can find one from a similiar model ie my 113 430 engine would take e55 supercharger as same basic 113 lump.
