And who talked the pound down against the dollar...why, stand up and take a bow Mr Darlling. Now why would you do that if not to keep fuel prices high and maintain your healthy share of VAT from the high price.

The price of oil has fallen quite rapidly in recent weeks. BUT sadly the value of the pound has plummeted as well, virtually offsetting the gains for us. You have to remember that oil is priced in dollars and it is the dollar price that has fallen. But where it was over $2 for a £ until quite recently it is now about $1.76 to the pound.

Which explains why unleaded has dropped to around 96p/litre (after conversion) here in Spain.

Here we go again...what a load of old dangly bits.
Morrisons have increased their fuel price by 2 pence a litre since their last cut ( which brought about this topic in the first place. ) So in reality, they are only dropping prices by ONE PENNY . Oil down from $147 to $90 a barrel and just a ONE PENNY cut !!
'Morrisons sets prices locally, but announces an 'average' across all its outlets.'
So the chances are, a lot of you won't see the price cut.

Don't agree. Morrisons leading prices down in many, many areas. Including round here.

And you are unfair about oil prices. Yes they have dropped a lot in the last month or so. But sadly so has the pound. And oil is priced in dollars so we lose out when the £ drops. Used to be 2 dollars or more to the pound. Recently under 1.80 to the pound.

The $2 to a pound was for a period of around 6 weeks ...average was $1.80 so not that much of a drop.
You have missed the point. They lowered price 2 months ago then quietly increased them to wipe out the drop. They then drop them again by the same amount and proclaim how wonderful they are. A complete sham.
