Suspension problem V220 ambient

Hi, i've had persistent problems with the rear suspension on my v220 not rising. A solenoid was replaced about 2 years ago, a compressor last year and a fuse six months ago; it has now gone again on the rear nearside. Total cost now £1500 - wary of taking it back to the same garage so if anyone can recommend any simple checks before I take it back (somebody advised disconnecting and reconnecting the battery) or if you can recommend a good Mercedes mechanic reasonably close to Chester I'd be very grateful. Just booked V220 in with MB Tech. Extremely helpful - they have suggested suspension system replaced with traditional Vito shocks etc. Very sensible cost effective solution given age and value of the vehicle. Told it will ride better and obviously no further problems with very unpredictable and unreliable automatic suspension.
